Will you stick with Whatsapp?

From February Whatsapp users will be presented with a choice... agree to share their data with the Facebook et al, or stop using Whatsapp. What are your plans? Will you stop using WhatsApp, or does it not concern you? Will you seek out an alternative or have you found one already?

Yes.. for now. As i do not have a Facebook account it doesn't really bother me that much. But as people i communicate with move to other platforms i will have to follow.

As the designated techie in the family, I encouraged the move to Telegram to mother and siblings. I was worried that they might resist the change, but the ease with which they adopted Telegram surprised me. One day later and we are all happily Telegraming away.

I'll stick with WhatsApp for now, my privacy does concern me a bit as I have accounts on a few social media platforms even though I am hardly on them, I must admit I don't fully understand what they do with my 'data' though.

This basically. I'm balls deep in gmail...I'm seriously gonna start worrying about whatsapp? Slippery slope maybe but I've got too much other **** happening right now that I don't have a lot of ****s to give about this. Maybe in a few months.

TBH I figured they were already doing that.

They must have been doing it before, I had a few cases years ago where Watsapp discussions resulted in facebook ads.

I think they are just retrospectively getting as to consent to this.

I'm teetering on ending both Facebook and watsapp. Unfortunately watsapp is just such an accepted communication platform. I need to be on it for work and family.
