I dont think i need to care. I really dont. So they push a few more ads at me,

maybe i am just naive
 
Even if I do manage to move all 5 people that I chat to over to Telegram I still cannot move businesses over :crying:

Us too. That BS needs to stop. They've got Teams/Slack, there's no need to use to "invade" my spare time by being able to push messages to me during holidays/weekends and after hours.

No longer a tinfoil hat needed since Snowden came out and exposed what where then “conspiracy theories”.

Was not happy when whatsapp sold out to FB.
Will cut back even more on posts. Will move on when the few that I correspond with on Whatsapp move on.
 
Got rid of Facebook a long time ago, use a mix of Telegram and Whatsapp for work and personal. Local family all use Telegram, need to see what overseas family use and maybe move them to Telegram as well. Interesting to see if they actually go ahead with ads/paid. Will definitely stop as much usage then as possible. Wasn't there some paid Whatsapp in the beginning? A fuzzy memory of it, like $1 a year?
 
I actually opted into the info sharing two years ago (?) when FB first purchased Whatsapp.
I remember them offering the opt-in and I thought it would be a good idea to have my contacts synchronised.

More like "just made it invisible to me"... :P
 
Most WhatsApp users are also on Facebook in any case. I don't have any real personal data on there. It's a communication tool which I use to communicate with family and friends.

It has critical mass and is convenient.

So I'm not really concerned about how Facebook use that data as I'm already aware that they have access to it.
