Hi all,
I got a call from a company yesterday. The guy said they are reselling 4MB Wimax from a company called Zinia. Has anyone else reveived a call like this? Has anyone heard about Zinia? Google doesn't come up with anything.

mm, did they give you a price on it? Are they going to call you back or did you say that you are not interested?

I did tell him that I have an outstanding order for Wimax from Telkom, but he promised he would email some info, which I haven't recieved.

LoL, let us know when you get it. I wanna see this. :D Would be nice to have a 4mb Wimax connection. :p

Hi I am the MD of Zinia and we most certainly have a 4Meg WiMax or WiFi solution amoungst others. We boast a coverage of Gauteng consisting of over 30 high sites. If you would like to investigate more please contact me on [email protected]

I am always cautious when it takes an ICT company this long to make a simple change to a non-transactional website ... sounds like another reseller to me.

Zinia owns and manages its own network so we are far from a reseller, in fact I only sell through my reseller base. If you are truely interested in my services im happy to provide information to back it up

Hmm, I have a fundamental problem with a company's MD referring to the company's reseller base as "his" and the company's services as "his" services.

So it's:
R 3,450.00 for 256k wireless connection, with:
- VPN connections at 1/1 contention
- ISP breakout at 1/10 contention
- ISP services uncapped

If I'm wrong, please correct me. Ain't this a bit expensive?
What about setup fees?

@ Warrenb: Surely you would want to backup the authenticity of your network to potential clients rather than just the ones who are "interested".

Hi Warren

please could you confirm whether it is your own WiMax solution or whether you are resellling telkom / vodacom?

Mr Zinia, a bit off the topic, but care to explain where you get the contact details to randomly phone people up? I have some beef about companies dishing out my personal details and would love to know where you get it

I believe the enquiry was if anyone has heard of Zina before, not whether they update thier website or whether they refer to the client base as "his".
I am from a company that uses wirelss solutions in IP surveillance and i have dealt with Zinia before. Warren provided excellent support and service. I believe that would answer your question, not these other random comments

I also have experience with them ... and well yes ... erm, let's leave it at that.
