WiMax -Telkom vs iBurst

Hey

I moved about a month ago, after about 4 weeks of trying to get my ADSL line moved to my new place, im now considering wimax and 3g.

There seems to be a lot of bad press about screamer? any1 here near the silver lakes area that use screamer wimax? Also whats the max speed u can get with it? 4mbps? I dont want to go back to telkom, and after the way i left their lil shop in menlyn im pretty sure they dont want me back either.

thx

I am with Screamer and have a 1Mg WiMAX connection. Their personal service is good and I have a stable connection.
Here is my speed test.

I have been with Screamer for about 2.5 months now - friendly service but unstable connection. Been down since Sunday morning but they working on it ....

Will post my speedtest when online again. Similar to yours but I latency isn't as good.

So where is the best place to get Wimax from? Screamer?

The only problem I have with screamer is that you can only use them as an isp. AFAIK, they don't have like a local only option... So, with BW being so expensive, Telkom is my choice...

Edit: Only wish I could get the option of a 1mb connection... :(

Saw this today for iBurst - expensive but is it any good?

It is exactly the same technology as used by Telkom WiMAX and Screamer WiMax but at 3 to 4 times the price. Then you have to deal with iBurps admin dept and because they wont have many customers their WiMax support team won't be very experienced.

From what I know they use the Chinese manufacturer, Huawei's, WiMax equipment.
