Wimbledon 2012

I wonder what makes Federer so good.

He's such a softy.Anyone of his opponents can smack six ways till Sunday.

The swiss...
He is very calm, he taught himself to play tennis and his mom is south african..

He does not kak his pants and yell like djokovic

The poor British will be hoping for a homegrown grass court champ....

Its been a long wait.

i fancy another 50 year wait.

Fed should win and retire...... nothing else to prove. He is the greatest.

A Federer/Tsonga final will be a less one-sided, more entertaining affair.

Then again, seeing the British hopes dashed in the final also has appeal... :-)

Fred Perry

1936....

Murray is going to try hard to emulate his countryman.

I hope he gets his @ss handed on a plate with strawberries on the side...

Men's Semi-Final Results

4-Andy Murray (GBR) bt 5-Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) 6-3 6-4 3-6 7-5
3-Roger Federer (SUI) bt 1-Novak Djokovic (SRB) 6-3 3-6 6-4 6-3

Never seen Djocovic play do poorly, no fight in him, not even one tie breaker in the match...

Pretty sad.
Well done Roger, I'll hate you forever if you let Murray beat you in the final.

Go Tsonga!!!

Agreed!

Would love that but unfortunately Murray doesn't have the BMT to win it.

Agreed!

Match fixing anyone?
Can't believe these two semi finals.

The thought had crossed my mind.

Wasn't it 1938?

EDIT: It is 1938.

Murray's triumph consigned a miserable run of 11 semifinal failures by British men to the history books and emulated the achievement of Bunny Austin, the last home challenger to reach the Wimbledon men's final back in 1938.

EDIT 2:

While Murray's victory has put one ghost to rest, the Scot won't be truly satisfied until he has become the first British man to win Wimbledon since Fred Perry in 1936.
Fed won't retire. If he wins, he goes to number 1. You can bet your ass he wants to stay at number one for as long as possible and beat all records, including Pete Sampras'.

Federer will return to the top of the world rankings if he equals Pete Sampras's seven Wimbledon titles on Sunday.

It would also mean he matches the American's 286 weeks spent as world No 1.

It would be amazing for Federer to return to number 1 again, considering the amazing form of Nadal and Djokovic over the last few years. No one ever thought it possible.

I did , I did ;)

I have been watching tennis for over 20 years... Fed has the best all round game of all.

Remarkably consistent, he is a legend.

When was the last time that the top two seeds were not in a grand slam final?

And when last was neither Nadal or Djokovic one of the finalists in a grandslam? Must be 2010 somewhere?

My favourite players in the final ... very happy for both of them.

1936 was the year he won his last majors including Wimbledon.
