Don't see a thread for this.

So big shock on the first day. Nadal is out. Lost in straight sets to Steve Darcis.

Was just about to start a thread. Nadal just can't seem to play on grass :wtf:

Looked like issues with his knees.
He wasn't chasing anything.

Should probably have withdrawn.

Excuses, excuses. He was fine two weeks ago when he won the French Open. Suddenly when he's losing, he starts to limp.

If you've watched him play before, you'll know that he has a reputation for playing long rallies and chasing every thing down.
He wasn't doing that today.

:wtf: He was chasing down alright, until he realised he was losing...

Look, don't get me wrong, even though I don't particularly support Nadal, I am sad that he lost this early. It's just terrible for the tournament but he really needs to sort himself out. It just seems like the only tournament he is interested in, is the French Open and other clay tournaments. He needs to make a comeback on grass. The tournament and his fans needs it.

Wow! Hewitt is on fire! This match is fantastic but almost over. Can't believe Wawrinka is losing in straight sets in the first round :-/

I have never been that big of a Nadal fan so I am not too sad to see him out of the tournament so early. However, I think there are a lot of people out there who have lost some money on him.

Go Federer:p

Bugger all this mens stuff. I switched on SSHD last night in the middle of the Sharapova/Mladenovic match. Holy crap, about a kilometer of gorgeous leg on the screen all at the same time :D

I was really impressed by that Darcis yesterday. Played without fear and with freedom, was not awed by Nadal at all, and fully deserved the win. Was surprised by Nadal's lack of pressure, but I will allow it to be chalked off to rustiness.

To be fair to Nadal in the post-match interview, he did not blame his knee, even though he was clearly injured.

He was a real gentleman and congratulated Darcis on the win.

Darcis played well, he played the match of his life.

Let's hope he can back this win up, and not end up like Lucas Rosol last year.

Beat Nadal in 2nd round only to lose the next round.

Nadal chose not to play any grass court tournament before Wimbledon. He only has himself to blame. Everyone else played a grass court tournament before Wimbledon.
