Early in her career, Lisicki could not fly to tournaments because of a lack of funding. She had to be driven across Europe in a car by her parents so that she could attend tournaments. Lisicki said: "My parents did everything possible to let me play tennis. That’s what I appreciated so much. My dad has worked from 8 in the morning til 9 in the evening to make it possible so I can play tennis. We had to cancel tournaments because we couldn’t afford to go there."

I like Sabine Lisicki more, the more I know about her.

i'm sorry but i can't stand bartoli. how old is she? and she acts like a 16 year old on the court lifting her fist like that all the time. it's time to grow up and join the real women of the tennis courts, you don't see them of her age act like that.

Yeah Serena just verbally abuses people and never smiles. I'll stick with Bartoli...

She's 28 - won't win again - she had a relatively easy route to the final - no big names along the way.

Serena would have creamed her in the final.

The occasion was just too big for Lisicki - didn't play anywhere near how she played in the run up to the final.
 
What happened with that point where the umpire called it out but the players kept on playing ... I missed the details.
