Wimpy - Epic XL BBQ Bacon

The burger looks good, no doubt, but for the same price, you can still just get far better elsewhere.

I'm also always quite depressed about the amount of chips they serve you... very lacking.
 
I would rather go to Dylan's

"A homemade 250g free-range beef patty on a sesame bun with tomato, lettuce and red onion
Served with a house salad or homemade fries"

and order this ----> Mama Mia R75

Bacon, gorgonzola cheese and cranberry sauce
 
Some of my work colleagues and I visited a Wimpy a few months ago and asked the waitress a question regarding the amount of chips that came with a particular meal (cant remember the meal anymore). She replied that its a half portion and added which would mean its 7 chips. We were like WTF. Excuse me? She laughed and says they they count out each and every chip they put on your plate. And for half a portion of chips they give you 7 chips.

Needless to say I never visited Wimpy since then.

Paltry portion sizes are common in ZA. I used to often complain about the amount of chips in the KFC 'Streetwise 2'. Sometimes I'd get more chips & sometimes I'd get a refund. At Canal Walk KFC they gave me a refund & I watched as they put the chicken from my returned box back onto the shelf (this was after I had taken it away to sit down in the main food court area).

Don't even get me started on the freshness of ZA chips...

Oh my word. They are still around. When I was in the army we used to always go tuck into their awesome burgers (and that was in 1989!). I will be in the area next week. Must make a plan to drop in there again :D

Wimpy are gonna kuck off big time when BK takes over.... I can basically get 2 Whoppers + Chips + Unlimited Drinks for less money than that.

Had this last Saturday, added an egg ! This thing was shyte :wtf: That beef patty scored naught, 0, nuthing ! ! On my tasteometer. Needed to kill an hour so went to silver lakes wimpy ( I think that what it's called ) ! The patty was extra grey and extra dense. Couldn't finish it. Left there hungry ! :(

I've notice though that the 150g is cooked differently at different Wimpy's because there are two Wimpy's at my local shopping mall and the one prepares it perfectly while the other prepares it like the one you had.
