The web is full of info on how to fix this, but not one of the solutions offered works.

Is there anyone who has a working fix ?

I've tried the delete folder and run a string through powershell recommendation which is the most common answer but still crashes a few seconds after opening.

Edge is built-into Windows 10 , I suggest you reset windows 10 if you haven't tried it already, you will lose all installed programs and apps but not your personal files, pictures , videos etc if you select the "Keep my files" option

Found this - will have to wait for Msoft to fix.

Update on August 16, 2017:
We've noticed that many users have reported the Edge browser issues recently. And Paul Bennington shared his workable mehtod to troubleshoot the "Microsoft Edge not working" problem in the comment. Many thanks to Paul. Here's the quotation from the comment and hope this could be helpful to you.
"Another issue that can stop Edge working is Trusteer Rapport software recommended by UK banks for secure online banking." "Rapport doesn't working with Edge 15."
It seems there's a conflict between the software and Microsoft Edge. And if your Microsoft EdgeHTML is in version 15, you may not be able to use the browser. So you can uninstall the Trusteer Rapport software for the moment if you need to work with the browser.

Trusteer Rapport is a spyware. It works like MS 'Telemetry', but for banks, not Microsoft.

Amusing theory... obviously completely bloody wrong, but very definitely amusing for its absolute idiocy.

When PC users download K#K 3rd party software ie.Trusteer Rapport and many other similar on their systems that function perfectly well without that Sh#t and then complain about the OS Microsoft problems should rather shut up and remove the 3rd party stuff doing justice to the OS.
An Old Proverb so apt to life and so to your PC. So before installing ANY 3rd party software evaluate your OS and the default built in applications and carefully considering compatibility issues.

Unfortunately I am forced to have Trusteer Rapport on my work PC, i think I have used Edge once...to download Chrome.

The problem is that various banks insist that Trusteer Rapport must be active as protection for their online-banking sessions.

Unfortunately, IBM and the internet browser companies don't work nicely together. Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc all release updates that breaks the Rapport functionality - sometimes with disastrous impact on my / anyone's PC. IBM then try to play catch-up.

The cycle continues ad infinitum.

I do not know what IBM / Trusteer has whispered to so many banks to have their product on such a pedestal, given the ongoing issues that this causes.

This is a part of international espionage programme monitoring money transfer activities rather than for users (or even banks) protection. There is a warfare behind the scene and every one spying on others. Stay away.

Wahaha ... Dude you should be on stage. This stuff is pure comedy gold

Where is that thread where every one said their browser is best again? I want to go change my vote to Opera.

I likewise am forced by Standard Bank to use Rapport for protection when I do my online banking or I will not be covered for any fraud actions!

Windows 10 and Rapport have until recently been working very nicely on Edge....a large Green box appears in the lower right of the screen showing that I am protected on Standard Banks' site and most other sites. This stopped on the 22/01/2018 when Microsoft or IBMs Trusteer rapport division uploaded a "fix" 3.5.1908.134 which destroyed this function.

Standard Bank are useless....still waiting for a reply from them and I have sent Rapport a long story of the problem.
Only way to be safe on my Banking Site and other sites is to use Chrome....Edge and Firefox will not work with Rapport.
I have been with Standard Bank for 49 years now so do not feel like changing Banks but their support really sucks!

I do have Kaspersky running which seems to be happy with Chrome but maybe does not like working with Edge or Firefox as far as Rapport is concerned!

Before buying my new Laptop with Widows 10 I had a major problem getting Rapport to run on my old XP system which of course Microsoft and Chrome no longer supports. Got Rapport to work on Firefox until Firefox went to version 51 at which time Rapport was no longer supported...managed to backtrack to Firefox 39 and stopped all Firefox updates so that worked with Rapport but got tired of this fight so bought a new laptop with Widows 10 and hoped that would be the end of my problems!

Currently using Chrome as my search engine to be safe.

By the way Windows 10 User Start panel really sucks! Fortunately found an app that lets me use Win 10 with a Win 7 Start Panel!:)

Your problems with Edge is the presence of Trusteer Rapport. Remove the Cr@p!!
The moral of any PC story - Learn how to use the default built-in apps that are part of Win 10 with the exception of the manufacturer OEM by removing this Bloatware. Keep your system updated and that includes your Windows Defender which is part of your default apps. Read this Microsoft news item about Defender : https://cloudblogs.microsoft.com/mi...imidated-into-making-an-unnecessary-purchase/

The moral of Third Party Apps - Ask yourself the three WHW (W=Why do I really need this app . Is there not a default built-in app to use? - H= How will this Third Party App effect my system efficiency and security? - W= What Microsoft approved app is available if your system has no default built-in one?)

All the Win 10 systems that we run have NO third party apps running purely on default built-in apps with Defender and we do not have any security issues. Windows Defender does the job well with Edge browser performing the security tasks as promised.

You will not receive a reply from Standard Bank as they are fully aware of their problems with Trusteer Rapport -"Another issue that can stop Edge working is Trusteer Rapport software recommended by UK banks for secure online banking." "Rapport doesn't working with Edge 15."

The modern Browser does not need apps to secure the operation of it by default settings, if you require extra security then tweek your browser settings accordingly.

There are many other opinions on browser brands but most opinions are just "Smoke and Mirrors" - The B@lldust of BRANDING for example - The science and principal of Ohms Law can and has been BRANDED in other titles by the electrical/lighting industry to sell various brands of stuff, the same applies to browser brands. The Edge Browser just functions better with Win 10.

Do you only use the default apps given to you even if there is better alternatives? Chrome and Firefox Quantum are far better than Edge IMO
