Wonder where Microsoft is hidding SP1 for Win 7 as they were supposed to release it today.
 
That is the RTM that has been available since mid-Jan.

Sure the RTM will become the final .... but that link is not a link to the final that is supposedly available to everyone on 22/02

Sorry after thoroughly reading it... I saw it's the RTM. Just scanned through it before posting the link.

You surely did not think while posting did you? RTM = Release to Manufacture = Final.

It should show up in Windows Update later today, but you can download it directly from the Microsoft Download website if you can't wait for Windows Update.
 
What size are we talking about for the download? 200Mb+?

Although they're basically the same thing .... the downloads that are available now is NOT the general public release .....
general public release date = 22/02/2011 .... which will show as SP1 & NOT SP1 RTM

But I must add that I read somewhere through Windows Update it would be less.
So that helps but yes. Imagine a poor Cell C oke... 2GB gone...

It would be better just to slipstream it into an iso and let people download a fully installable iso image as it wont be much bigger. Oh well, something you could do at home though.
 
I've had it since last month already :wtf: it's around 700mb for the 64bit one and 537mb for the 32bit one

SP1 is supposed to be available tonight via Windows Update.

Wonder if people with pirate versions of Windows 7 will take the plunge? :)

Just found it on Windows Update 44Mb - 553Mb.Mine turned out to be 61Mb.A lot better than 1.9Gb!!
