Win 8 DP and Skype

What are your experiences with Skype and Win 8 DP?

Skype 5.5 works on my install, but only for a while at a time. Somewhere (seems like it might be after a reboot) it simply stops working. Then I have to uninstall, delete the skype roaming data, and reinstall, whereafter it will work for a while again.

Every time thus far when it stopped working, it asked my permission to bring about changes to the computer. If I accept, Skype changes something and effectively commits suicide. If I decline, I cannot access Skype.

Anyone know of a way to get Skype stable?

I am using Skype version 5.5.0.117 and having no issues with it. My portable version of skype is an earlier version and crashes every time during the sign-in... perhaps update ?

I am using 5.5.0.117, to be precise. It seems like my Skype is a one-session version - if I keep it open, it works. The moment I close it, however, it breaks and won't open again.

Eish I have just done a quick Goooogle, and it seems that a number of Win8 users are having similar problems to you. Maybe Skype will push through an update ??

I am lucky then... it works all the time for me, even after reboots.
