Alright.

We all know that there is more anti-Windows 8 sentiment than there is optimism about it.

As a result, websites often tend not to provide information on new exciting Win8 product details as and when they are available or prehaps do not even make the effort to look for it.

I have been looking for this information and have come across several bits of interesting pieces of Win8 info, which I think signals the direction in which modern day computing will take real soon - given the imminent launch of Win8. It goes without saying that not many agree with me on this, which is why I have started this thread.

I look for information on MyBB (first & foremost), then The Verge, Engadget, TechCrunch, TechRadar and Mashable. Here are some pro Windows sites that I use:
- My Nokia Blog - www.mynokiablog.com
- Nokia Power User - www.nokiapoweruser.com
- WPCentral - www.wpcentral.com
- WMPoweruser - www.wmpoweruser.com
- Neowin - www.neowin.net
- Let me know if you know of others.

In this thread are a few Win8/WP8 stories that I've seen that have not been reported on on MyBB or other major Tech websites, which I have posted and will continue to post.

Post your leaks or unknown information about Windows and Windows related devices here.

Is this the WP8 Nokia Lumia Mid-range device:

Leaked patent 'blueprints'.

The Nokia Lumia 719 released in China to be reincarnated as the 4.3'' 'Arrow'?

Link.

Update:

This might actually be Nokia 'Glory', the phone to be released this year running on WP7.8. It is mean't to target the low (perhaps lowest) end of the market and is likely to compete with the Galaxy Pro or other similar devices.

Sony's Surface Challenger:

Sony Vaio Duo 11 .

OEMs have a good chance of out shining MS's Surface in my opinion.

This one certainly makes me think. Its the best alternative that I've seen so far.

You know why MS made the surface right? It's not to make money. Hell, it may make a loss.
The point is to get the OEM's off their asses, and I think it was a brilliant idea.

Microsoft Launches SkyDrive For Android - TechCrunch

Just in case you missed the article, here it is: "SkyDrive for Android"

This move by Microsoft shows how much emphasis they are putting on encouraging the market to use their software, their main revenue stream.

It is true, the Surface is not intended as a profit making project but rather to get OEM's off their behinds and to drive software use more than anything else - especially if they are going to be selling it at US$199.

Things are about to change - Nokia Teaser Video

I don't know either but 5 September is not too far away.

The video seems to be implying that its ebb and flow for Nokia and this time its time to ebb.

WPDownUnder - Nokia Phi definately has PureView

News from tomorrow (literally as I write this).

A Windows Phone Down Under (Australia) article dated August 30, 2012 (my date reads August 29, 2012) confirms that one of the devices being unveiled will have the full 41MP PureView camera. Nokia 'Phi' is the named device.

Recent leaks have confirmed that the next Lumia model is codenamed the Nokia Phi, and will continue the “upper end” of the Lumia device range following on from the 800/900. WPDownUnder has received information this week advising that not only is this the case – but that the Phi device WILL feature a PureView camera fully integrated and functional with Windows Phone 8.

Nokia are certainly more secretive than Samsung.

Link.
