Window tinting / smash and grab

You cant go more than 35% tint, otherwise insurance wont pay out. We had ours installed at Glassfit. Get the smash and grab and not just the normal tint. You can still see somewhat inside.

Which car do you have? May be easy to find a solution to close off the parcel shelf.

As others say, it can be a bit tricky during the night but one rarely uses ones rear windows to park. Its more to see your surroundings with one using the Rear PDC or camera and side mirrors. At night I have to let my front side windows down to see the mirrors to reverse park with the 35% tint.

I do think with many vehicles coming from factory with privacy glass which is 20% if not darker on certain brands, I'm sure you can get away with a darker tint in the rear but 35% in the front side windows.

The legal limit is 35%. This means the film must allow 35% of visible light through the window. Any darker than 35% is illegal and can result in a heavy fine by traffic law enforcement. Also some insurance companies wont pay incase of an accident if the tint is darker. Thats as per the government gazette.

It can take an hour or 2. You can wait while they do it, but you cant open the windows for about 2-3 days
