Windows 10 can now run on a Raspberry Pi

That's only true if you are using a HDD. Time to upgrade to SSD.
HDD will make any computer look like a dated slow pc due to the bottleneck.
Windows is slow. Linux runs much more quickly. I actually cant even play some of my windows games on windows 10. Need to run them on linux for my (lil) laptop to be quick enough.

The big problem I had is there are no decent graphics drivers available for you to be able to do anything remotely useful in terms of multimedia, which basically means you're better off sticking to Linux anyway.

I understand that Windows 10 WoA is fundamentally different from Windows 10 IoT, but it's still not practical for day to day use on the Pi 3.

Goodluck running win32 programs, since you all say it is "the same". Windows 8 RT was never Windows 8. Same counts for Windows 10 RT aka ARM

It is k@k slow on my Pi 3 B... Fails to find my keyboard and when it does eventually load its slooow..... Took 5 minutes to open the ms app store..

Windows 10 crawls on an i5 with 8gb of ram. Ganna try this out, see what its like, Im not expecting the world.

Only if the drive is not a SSD....

Old PC with 8Gb ram and i7 CPU... ESXi loaded...

Not a single one of these 5 VM's are slow, each have it's own 64Gb SSD.... None would probably function on a normal drive though

Yeah, I dont have a SSD and at the moment cant afford it. Linux is faster, its just how it is. Its the worlds most powerful OS.

Yes Linux is faster, no doubt about that
Its kinda weird how it plays windows games on proton better than if I just had windows installed. Windows with an HDD is a nightmare now. Its kinda funny, cause if you do a default install of windows 10 and dont update anything, it runs okayish, but after the updates it becomes pretty much unusable (for me).

Yeah also experienced that, as soon as you start doing updates it does go slower.

I actually did have 2 of those Windows VM's on a normal drive, was very slow, AD services failed to start lol. So in the end added more 64Gb SSD's that I had and now "normal" speed

Perhaps it has something to do with the specrte and meltdown patching? Its enough of a slow down for me that I needed to switch OS to be able to function on hardware that should be running as slow as it does. What I have is not great. Its an i5 8gb of ram, but I should be able to do more than just browse one website at a time on it.

I use a light version of linux, as much of my OS is loaded into memory as possible. It also means less lag between tab switching in browser. For some reason this really slows down on windows.

When I had windows 10, I could play my game (very slowly and with much lag), when I installed linux. Same game, and now I can have browser window over and do alt tabbing. Windows really shouldnt be this slow on hdd :( or have an option to mitigate the symptoms of this if you do have a hdd. They used to do it right.

It only runs on windows 10 pro. Tried compiling 10 home but it does not work. Strange...

I've just tried to run the cmd file and Norton had a fit. Is everyone happy with the CMD creator site?

It's ARM - Advanced RISC Machine, this is the CPU on the Pi, NOT an Intel or AMD architecture.

Bunch of f$#k!n newbies on this forum ???

A good way to waste 30GB of hdd space.

After completing the process I have 2 folders in my Downloads folder which can not be deleted no matter what you try.

Changing owners, Attributes and still can't delete.
