Windows 10 drops default option to safely remove USB drives

Need to be Admin to select “Better performance” / "Quick Removal"

Actually I always do safe removal, even on Windows 10.

NTFS formatted drives require it anyway, otherwise checking these drives on insertion can take ages.
 
Who comes up with all this drivel about Win10?

Has anyone actually thought through the process of removing a removable drive?
The process of removing a drive is entirely under the control of the dumbass sitting behind the keyboard. If he/she wants to pull the drive, he is going to and no setting in the OS is going to stop that from happening.

Hence the "quick removal" setting as the default IS the safest and least risky setting for all anyway!

The "best performance" setting says the dumbass MUST remember to ALWAYS first use the "safe removal process"

Now the fact that most of us do so because we trained our muscle memory accordingly is irrelevant
So what please tell me is such a big deal about this setting?
And who has in fact NOT deliberately changed the setting to quick removal for ALL removable drives. or at least checked to see what the settings are?
 
Who uses it in any case? In the time it takes to pull out a drive everything should already be written. If copying a large file just give it an extra 10 seconds.
 
There is always that one transfer that perpetually hangs invisibly
