Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

Most people (even here) aren't "it experts", what seems simple to you is not the case for others. Windows update control can be a lot better if ms wanted it to be.

For them just use https://mizitechinfo.wordpress.com/...nstalling-configuring-wsus-in-server-2012-r2/ and follow to step 21. Instead of GPO's and so on, you can simply use the reg files I provided above. They work great when you do not have a Domain env.

GPO and so is the more advance stuff is for IT experts I agree but installing it, is not.

Edit: and if you have an IT env with 10+ PCs and no WSUS you should be shot. :)

And here is the reason why I WSUS.

Windows Fall update breaks Office 2013 Access email macro. Thanks to WSUS only 1 person affected. One click rollback for the win.

It helps for now, but WSUS is completely unsupported on Windows Home (and perhaps Pro). Once you decide to update you may find that Microsoft has decided to ignore WSUS settings, similar to ignoring GPE autoupdate settings on 1607.

Erm I have 4 Laptops on Windows 10 Home thats updating purely from my WSUS (Check regedit files provided) So might not be supported officially but its working.

A) So far they have not ignored WSUS settings (As long as the system updates within 180 days its happy with it) Also know large firms that have Home systems that use WSUS instead of Microsoft servers and trust me they have way louder voices than you and me.
B) Have firewall that block PC's from getting their own updates so good luck with that.

I have never been able to generate the problems sajunky is always talking about. Neither with what is normally available via GPO or registry changes or recently via WSUS.

The updates happen exactly the way I want them to happen, when I want them and how. I advise all the owners of the PCs I help with NOT to unduly delay updates and do the daily updates everyday when it suits them, but I undertake the major ones on their behalf.

Ignoring GPE settings is today in v1607. A future? Your solutions may be good for yourself, but good luck for your clients who trusted unsupported solutions, especially on Windows Home.

My suggestion is one: say you are crippled, then convert DAZzed Win7 Pro into a legitimate upgrade to Win10 Pro. Do it as long it works.

It gives Microsoft assurance that their Bitcoin mining engine is up to date and works more efficient.

Precisely.... I’m enjoying the returns were generating from all those miners, it’s great

Well if you don't update you stand a chance of some random Russian or ISIS dude using your PC for mining. So its a case of pick your miner. :D

Would rather chose Russian. This one gave me nearly 100% utilisation during last three or four days.

WUMT for the win, totally blocks windows updates or lets you choose which updates you want.

Hmmm.... thought I'd check HWmonitor on my gaming pc only to find all monitoring/stress testing tools have been miraculously removed.

How can I prevent my Windows to update to the Fall Creators Update? This is quite critical, I'm using software which isn't ready yet, it will only be ready in Jan or Feb next year.

Perhaps your soft is compatible with Win7. Problem solved for the next few years.
