Why do people still use these? Not trolling, they're just not particularly good phones anyway. Coupled with a dead, sub-par OS - I don't get it.

Personal preference. "dead, sub-par OS" ... that cant get infected like android

Just as you see it as being "not particularly good" Others see iOS as a mess of a kiddy UI and android feels slow and is buggy even on stock android roms on flagship devices

If a device can do what you need it to do, then no need to follow the crowd.

Used/set up several of the new android flagships, always find myself relieved when I use my 950XL afterwards

Thank you and well stated and so factually true.

Have you used it or is your opinion based on other users experiences?

My wife upgraded her contract and moved from a 950XL to a P9. She complains at least once a week about how frustrating it is using android. She's been using it for 6 months and still not enjoying the OS.

I get what you’re saying. From personal experience l, I found the UI to be terrible. There’s going to be a degree of familiarity missing obviously, but I never found it intuitive.

Personal experience using a Lumina 950. Felt relief coming back to my iPhone, it just worked faster, more intuitively. As above though, familiarity plays a part.

I wish my Lumia devices functioned as well as they did when I got them... they have all become an absolute buggy train wreck... after my last attempt at a wipe I never bothered even installing any apps. Very sad because they were amazing in the beginning.

It still works.
It does what I need it to do.
I prefer the UI to that used by Android.
I don't want to increase my monthly expenditure or buy a 'phone when I already have something that is good enough for me.

In my view it's iOS > Windows Phone > Android.

It's sad they didn't get more traction because the OS is actually really good.

Took their sweet time to identify the problem.

Going to miss windows. Already moved everything to my new Galaxy S9+. Every user in my house had a windows phone and I'm the last to move. Already have a buyer lined up for my one 950XL. Still have another 950XL with wireless charger that I need to sell.

Should have just gone to insider slow release, never had this pdf issue at all

This OS has just received an update - June 12, 2018—KB4316692 Update for Windows 10 Mobile (OS Build 15254.489) and still alive

Yeah, regular monthly update.

But there's no new version of this codebase. It's based on Windows 10 1709.

I'm still hoping that Windows on ARM will add the phone modules so device makers can do phablet or phone handsets on Snapdragon 845 and beyond. Windows on ARM even has built-in x86 emulation. A 6-inch WOA phone would be perfect for me.
