So I'm not 100% sure when this started but I think within the last 2 weeks.

Windows search does not work at all. Usually I would push the Windows key and then just type in whatever I wanted to launch, like Teams or Netflix or a document name or whatever and it would pull it up. That no longer works.

If I open File Explorer and search within Documents for example, that does work.

Indexing is on and I have rebuilt the index.

Windows Search Service is running.

Windows 10 1903.

Cant offer any clever solutions.
Perhaps the obvious question is whether you've considered going to 1909 or 2004 ?

im a MAC guy but for the last month and a bit i have a windows 10 PC at home as well now for gaming
and this is why i create a restore point every single week and never miss one, Winblows is just too unpredictable

After updating to 1903 , windows start and search dont work, tried dism repair in power shell and scan in windows with no luck , seems I will have to create a new profile and test from there.

I use the official ISO and do an in-place upgrade. Did this from Vista days.

Way faster to upgrade your build.

The temporary fix was this:

This irritated me for ages. My work laptop was blocked from accessing the bing servers but that didn't stop windows from spending an age trying to contact them. Haven't read the article but I managed to resolve by changing some registry settings.

Haven't been able to do Windows Updates as they're deployed by WSUS and I haven't been to the office.

Tried various fixes with no results as of yet. It's a weird one, can't even search within Netflix, it just doesn't register keystrokes in the search bar.

Will go to the office on Monday and see if I can resolve with Windows Updates.

Funny I find the exact opposite of Mac. My MBP is less than a year old and the most unreliable laptop I have every owned.
I got it back from repairs yesterday after they replaced the entire lower case, keyboard and battery. The old battery swelled and caused the cases to deform.
It also does the Mac equivalent of bluescreening really often, its been years since I had that on my windows gaming rig.

i have a mid 2013 and its on 24hrs a day, i have never had a millisecond trouble with mine
good luck

This last update just messed with my PC and made searching for stuff difficult. The search feature hangs/freezes.

Lately Microsoft are just dropping balls all over the place. That file deletion bug was a huge **** up and now people are having permissions problems with accounts. Are they in trouble maybe or going broke?
