I've started off the new year with a working desktop PC and a clean install of Windows Technical Preview on a SSD.

It feels good. Runs like greased lightning too!

Under no circumstances am I running WMP for anything video-related, though. That's solely VLC's domain.

Dude, if you want to create awareness, it might be better to start a Facebook group?

Also, the 90% of my species wiped out - it's called civilization and urban sprawling. You are also one of their killers.

I downloaded GIMP using it and I have other work uses for it unrelated to piracy.

You can sign up for free to the Windows Technical Preview for Enterprise program. I prefer people do it this way instead of the regular TP Program because your ISOs are always up to date whenever they reach particular build milestones. As things stand now, build 9841 is stable enough to use as your default work OS until the launch in October this year. There will be a consumer preview available in January with new features, but anyone inside the Technical Preview program will get it anyway.

Laptop updated today, not sure to which build ver. Freaking me out a bit as its making me go thru the initial setup... I think it did this before with a previous update so im holding thumbs all my junk is still the same.

Anyone having problems are the latest update (10041) with the search no longer working. Normally used to click on start and type in the app name. Doesn't work for me anymore. Type and nothing happens.

I could never search from the start menu, even on build 9926.

yeh saw that. but it sucked even on 9926.

now if i search it just stays blank.

Loved the search - now have to go and find the app and run it...pfft! :(
