Reason why I'm asking, I have a friend who thought techical preview end date and Windows 10 release date is the same day. He installed Technical preview as main/only OS on his PC.![]()

Technical preview end 15 April, IIRC. Will it still be usable up to the release date (anytime from mid June iirc). What's up with the specific date?
Edit: Microsoft has said before that anyone on the Technical Preview build, at least the latest one available before RTM, will be able to upgrade to a regular Windows 10 license and build, so there shouldn't be any off switches for the preview builds as they stand right now.
Also, the release is sometime in September, at least that's my best guess because Intel has to launch Skylake just before, or immediately after, Windows 10 becomes available.
I'm on the insider program but it lists the 9926 version?
Or do I have to install 9926 and then update?
You didn't use Acronis to restore the previous image? Takes a few minutes.Nearly killed my ssd with the latest preview of Windows 10. It's taken me now 3 days to get it back up and running. Not going there again till it's released in the wild. It was nice though, what I saw of it.

I'm off the Technical Preview for now. It broke in so many ways for me today that I spent most of it trying to fix it. In the meantime, I'm going to follow up on my promise to do more reporting on Gaming on Linux.
I went back to Windows 7.... I enjoyed my time using Windows 10 Technical Preview... my laptop just feels so slow right now, running Windows 7.
