Windows 11 Support Thread

My task manager seems to be broken, showing wrong cpu name/specs, gpu name/specs as well as memory.

Also says my pc has been running for 10 days even though I have rebooted today.

I'm using Windows 11 at work and there is a lot they can still fix. It's been very stable, but it does have some random performance issues, so I'll stick with Windows 10 on my home pc until that's been sorted
 
What potential issues could I have if I install 11 on an i5 system that has no TPM at all and the CPU isn't up to spec, it has 8Gb DDR3 and a SSD?

No need to worry about your hardware. Won’t even install without TPM enabled (unless they’ve removed that requirement).

I'll be hacking the registry so it doesn't look for TPM or cpu spec, all sorted there.

I know it will install but I'm just wondering about if I may potentially have blue screens or any other unhinged behaviour

Opposite for me. I use 11 as my main OS and my work VM I will keep on 10 for as long as I can.

Thus far all has been well - except for on major eff up. Creating new VMs.

Hyper V on Win 11 only creates config gen 10 configs - you can't import them to Win 10. When I was setting up a dev Debian VM for a buddy on W10 I had to make a new W10 PC and setup the Debian from there and then import it to my W11 PC.

That is the only way you will get config V9 on Windows 11

Why would you? ... Im running it on 2 machines from day 1 (unsupported hardware and no TPM)
 
So after using Windows 11 since launch on my Lenovo work laptop I have to reload windows.

Something is causing the BSOD as soon as my desktop shows it freezes for 10 seconds then BSOD.

DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION

I did a disk check, Sfc scan, Uninstalled any updates, safe mode but as soon as the desktop shows it freezes so can't even try drivers or anything. Just started happening yesterday afternoon nothing changed.

Try this:

You can basically skip the 1st option (startup repair) ... it never works :p

So I got the lonovo firmware from the website and flashed that from a usb thumb drive.

Working now.

Not sure why it broke unless windows 11 did something in the background that broke it.
