Windows 11 Support Thread

Government is on XP ... would be a moerse surprise to them to jump to W11 ;)
It's akin to getting out of a VW Beetle, and climbing into a VW Tiguan...

"Haibo Eishhhh - what is this BIG screen in the middle for? - Where is my Sanyo 'SABRE' FM/AM radio with the 5 station pre-set buttons?"

BTW - cool fact for propeller-heads - this is what the letters SABRE imprinted on the 5 pre-set buttons represented:

S - Springbok Radio
A - Afrikaans
B - Bantu (Indigenous Languages)
R - Regional
E - English

No problem sir, we'll wait till you are right in the middle of a complex job and haven't saved your work for 40mins, then when you take a quick coffee break we'll run the update and restart your computer so you lose all your work.
Only a pleasure, Microsoft support engineers.

Eish the Firewall is irritating me.
Trying to allow an app through which was working for years, but now suddenly blocked after I got a new router :X3:

We download secure RDP links to connect to our jump boxes. Because the link came from a secure server over a VPN, credentials could be stored. But, not in Windows 11. Defender now doesn’t allow stored credentials, so have to manually sign in every, single, time.

What do you mean, I can save credentials for network devices I connect to?

Message pops up that reads “Windows Defender Credential Guard does not allow using saved credentials”.

Worked as intended in 10, just won’t in 11.
saw this:
In conclusion, addressing the RDP "Windows Defender Credential Guard does not allow using saved credentials" error involves either editing group policy settings or modifying the Windows registry. By disabling Windows Defender Credential Guard for RDP, users can resolve the issue and regain seamless remote access

Cheers, will pass on to IT.

He’s right. Everything is locked down by GPO, so can’t change anything unfortunately. But did pass what you sent on to our IT anyway because the roll out is fresh, and there’s probably loads of people who are going to have the same issue (I was in the first batch).
Aah ok ... get ya ;)

GPO is POWERFUL :p

Ok, so official response from IT is that it’s a GP that’s working as intended. No stored credentials were ever allowed. Never mind the fact that it worked how I wanted to for over 2 years.
