Windows 11 Support Thread

Is this normal for Windows 11, having so many bugs and updates needed to fix them and updates that don't work and take hours to install.

I was on Windows 7 for ages and then moved to Windows 10 without many issues and am now on Linux Mint.

You Windows 11 fellas are in update hell it seems.
Windows 7 was also terrible especially later on. Windows update service wouldn't clean up and after a few years you'd sit with 30gb + files inside the Windows folder.

I've been on Windows 11 for years. Main critical programs include Home Assistant, home-made alarm interface to a years-old PI alarm system, Plex, Jellyfin, Agent DVR, Next PVR and TailScale. The same PC is my everyday device for general office work, dabbling with programming, etc.

The system is rebooted generally once or twice per month for updates. Other than that, it's online 25/7 (including 1 hour for a Bar One )

99% of the time I don't have any update issues on W11

I actually had more update problems with W7 & W10 .... and W7 was extremely slow on pulling updates down from MS servers ... was usually better to manually download and install. So yea, im actually happy with the way W11 updates performs.

Most W11 issues is hardware specific ;)
... Like RedViking will tell ya, Dell doesn't like W11

Busy upgrading my old laptop to Windows 10. I installed Win 11 on it last week to see if it's ok on the machine. No such luck. I installed Kubuntu on the other laptop I use daily 3 months ago and it runs like a dream. Seems Win 11 is only useful on more than 16 GiB ram and ssd drives.

I was quite impressed the other day - W11 pushed a ‘refresh’ update after an H2 update kept failing - left it to do its business and 30m later my updates are running clean again.

Currently on 2025H2

I had the same recurring 'failed to install issue' over the last 2 months on my old i3 Intel 5th Gen laptop - but this '25H2 refresh update' also solved that issue for me when it managed to install successfully... ;)
