Windows 11 Support Thread

I might be miss remembering but I'm pretty sure windows used to restart automatically after a few seconds when it blue screened

Now it doesn't, just sits there, it does say YOU can restart I noticed.

EDIT: Yeah it used to, guess they fscked that as well

This setting is probably disabled ....

I prefer it to sit there so I can see the codes/error without having to go hunt it down :p

Virtual Aux Cable is very niffy, but even tho it does not add much in the way of latency, niether does it reduce latency, of which there is way too much to start with, a result of kernel, and kernel driver issue. Audio on Windows is an after thought. :(
Specific issue to your setup I assume?

Strangely, on each of the more decent sets of Bluetooth earbuds I have, windows does a poor job of audio syncing, especially if I play and pause frequently.

But on the R200 cheapies it's flawless with no noticeable issues.

Most probably a case of higher bitrates on the better earbuds, although I don't notice much of a quality difference, appart from having to equalize the stream a lot to compensate for the poor driver in the cheapies.

Seems like Win 11 is still buggy?

I'll wait till Oct to switch over.

I hear you - me, they don't sound good I toss them, lots of kids around who appreciate a pair of "Bluetooth phones"

Not going take the effort to try and equalize them.

Notice a similar anomaly between cheap headsets and mp3 files - seems they where made with each other in mind. Seems cheap headphones lack of dynamic bandwidth and range, improves the listenability of mp3

I was going to hold off as well, but a few weeks ago decided just to get it over with

Windows 11 is so much better than 10 when it comes to performance
Just do it

Win11 kills my Celeron NUC - is okay on my i5 laptop. Think when I upgrade to Win11 I am going to judiciously "debloat" it.

Never look a gift horse in the mouth, and all ...

A 7th Gen. NUC with Celeron, 8Gig. RAM and currently a old 250Gig. Laptop HDD. Will do for an Audio Server, when I put a SSD in it.
Theres your problem, even a system with a powerful cpu will feel sluggish and tired without an SSD.
SSD's are so cheap these days even a 512GB can be had for not much more than R50p

Due to economic issues, I cannot currently afford a SSD, even a R50p one :)

Yes, an SSD, will improve it greatly, and as soon as I can, it will get one. Then that old laptop drive, can go back into the external HDD case I bought for it years ago.
