Windows 11 Support Thread

You doing it wrong, what i have done on my gaming PC and work laptop is set the feature target version to whatever the current build is in GPO, so it will never go past that. Currently it's set to 23H2.

It still does security updates but will not do feature/build updates.
That's clever, I forgot about that "feature"

How do I create a snapshot of my windows just as it is right now. Software, drivers, everything. . Dell used to have an option on my previous dell machines that created an image of the complete machine and installed software, but that doesn't seem to be available anymore.

Why did windows stop the support for create system image (windows 7)?

I need to do this too. Not sure what it's called but if your computer fails you can restore everything back as it was - might be an image???

I know you can create one, but until windows decided enough is enough. Are there third part tools that are more up to date and reliable?
That option works perfectly fine.

There will be 3rd party yes, but probably paid versions like Acronis or DiskGenius, etc

EDIT: Google gives these

@RedViking seems your PC still works fine, you are just in the update screen

So why not wait till the weekend, so you can do your work and get people their drawings, then sort it out over the weekend when you'll have time and probably more forum members to help you go up shits creek.

It wasn't fine. Something got corrupted and my software didn't work. And I couldn't use the PC and it gave all sorts of erros. Everything is sorted for now. Windows updated with the repaired version. Dell installed critical BIOS update. I repaired the display drivers. And I updated Power Tools. I also went into Group Policy editor so windows does not do another version update until the time I feel like doing it (Shout out to Rickster). Will see what surprises they have next.
