Hi,

bit of a rando, is there any where you can currently reliably purchase a windows 7 key that isnt exactly considered illegal and that it will actually work?

TIA

Probably ebay, what's the use case for it?

5min

The average amount of time a Win7 box is on the internets before it becomes home to a horde of botnets and other dodgy shiat.

Folks installing it should be shot and their corpses burned. No excuses.

the person needs it for a software requirement from my understanding...

If the software doesn't require an internet connection. Run Win 7 on Win 10 with Virtualbox. Bob's your uncle.

open to any other ideas, getting to the point where i dont care if it is legit.

pc needs internet also, so no virtual box

Activate it with DAZ. Install Kaspersky Cloud Free.
Get a 3rd party Firewall as well.

Alternatibely, If you/the client can afford it. Get an Eset Internet Security license. You can pay per month.

Kaspersky cloud free the best free AV you reckon?

Nope. Eset is IMHO.
Just not sure if it still works on 7.

I know Kaspersky Cloud Free works though. Installed it on 7 a few weeks ago.

If you don't activate Win 7

Windows 7, 8.0 and 8.1 uses a desktop background watermark, a notification every hour and removal of your wallpaper. Optional Windows updates won't download and some settings are disabled. You'll still receive security updates and there's no actual time-limit anymore.
If you can live with the popup

so i tried Kaspersky Cloud Free and just constantly got errors on the install. tried a few, eventually installed panda
