Hey everyone.

I am new to the forums & have done some research in trying to figure out what the problem is with my Windows 7 32bit and my Vodafone E220 device.

I have downloaded everything I could and would need to get my 3G mobile device working on Windows 7 but with no luck. I have tried to updated my firmware but keep getting a error saying "Initial API failed". So I cant get my Vodafone firmware updated, I have downloaded an older version of firmware as well and got the same error.

Windows does detect the device and I am able to open the Vodafone Dashboard to say 'connect', and I do have good signal, but when I do this its just keeps saying connecting... and nothing happens afterwards.

Everything worked on XP but not on Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit...

Software updated (installed): v.9.4.6.20529
Firmware (not installed): 11.117.09.00.00 & 11.110.05.00.00
Vodafone device: E220

Please help!:(

Update the Firmware on a Windows XP Machine. Also what you can try is to remove VMC 9.4.6, and update the E220's Software to Version 3.2.1.156(Also on a XP Machine), then install it.

I'm using the E220 on Windows 7 Ultimate with the firmware version 11.117.10.03.99 and the normal VMC Lite and it works like a charm. I read somewhere that programs like AnyDvd mght interfere.
