Windows 7 Beta 1 - Download here

Its one of those things I always planned on doing, and just never got around to. The whole system is water cooled aswell. Need to learn how to do it now though :o

Edit: They arn't expensive anymore are they? Bought it ages ago

Just increase the FSB speed(start out with increments of 10, don't push too far) and leave everything else on auto, this is how I started out.

Get cpuZ to check your speed in Windows.

I'll give it a try tonight. I'll also switch my old XP HDD back in to see how that handles it and try compare the two systems.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I also flashed the BIOS to the latest version. Couldn't even change the RAM timing without it crashing there. Changed the BIOS back on patch and that seemed more stable.

Arrggg, had to switch back to XP at work as well. My ACAD version is 32 bit and wont load on the 64bit system. At least I have a few months to convince the financial manager to fork out the money for for the new version.

But XP feels really slow now compared to W7
 
I think I read on another thread that other people on mweb were having the same problem. Seems Mweb has blocked MS downloads with local

NVIDIA drivers for Windows 7 Beta

NVIDIA drivers for the Windows 7 Beta release can be downloaded directly from Microsoft's Windows Update service.

Instructions:

After a fresh installation of the Windows 7 Beta, click on the Start button.
Click Windows Update (it will be pinned to the top of the start menu). You can also type "Windows Update" into the start menu Search to locate Windows Update.
Within Windows Update, locate and install the NVIDIA driver update (it will either be an important update or an optional update depending on your system).

I now have GB1CULFRE_EN_DVD 32bit that I have on DVD and am now .ISO-fying onto a flash drive (sooo much easier to copy around the place, if anyone's interested...). So, the .iso will use up a paltry 2.43GB of a DVD, what would y'all reckon I could stuff into the .iso in the name of HandyToHave(tm)?

And if you missed the hint earlier, for those in my area, I have the DVD/an ISO to copy from... ;)
 
I am sure that is what will happen... You will get the activation screen....

Seems they are limiting some of our MWEB uncapped local access...
Anybody with the 32bit Win 7 in Pretoria - Midrand area?? PLS ??

It will give you a screen requesting that you either download the latest beta, re-activate or buy the full version...

I would think a Beta is not meant to be used as an upgrade. But I suspect your use of "upgrade" has some meaning I have missed by not reading the preceding pages.

You are wasting this system given you have even watercooled it.
 
Nebody know if Route Sentry still works?
I wanna install, but worried i wont be able to pick up where i left off with XP.

So far ive heard of ISO issues, especially with the BF2 mini iso....

Can anybody confirm Route Sentry will work?
