Timeline, Spaces, etc etc etc is all old Unix Serverware technologies, which apple just brightened up to make it look nice.

It very quickly came to light that the person who said this isn't even on the Windows 7 design team, but as you can imagine, the internets got hold of his comments and now it is all out of context.

"Inspired by" and "copied" are two very different things.
This whole discussion is so unbelievably goofy. But then I s'pose that's what happens in the Age Of Advertising and The Corporate Brand, where likes and dislikes are driven by superficial issues. Interesting to see the knee-jerkers jerking their knees again. And again. And again.
