Hi all,

Please excuse what is probably a very daft question, from a Windows 7 newbie, but is it possible to install Windows 7 onto an existing partition?

The machine in question has two partitions; one for the OS and one for storage.

I will not have enough additional storage available to me, so I cannot move everything off of this drive in order to facilitate a complete repartition and format scenario.

I would prefer a clean OS install as opposed to an upgrade.

The idea is to format & install onto the existing C: (OS partition).

Thank you.

I see everyone is trying their best not to be too informative. Short concise answers to teach the OP to fish rather than simply eat... :D

Edit: everyone as in one dude...

Windows 7 is running. :)

cpu., I did actually Google beforehand, but wasn't really coming up with any definitive answers. ;)

Prior to the installation, I downloaded drivers for the major components but neglected to check for a rather crucial one...

Tomorrow morning I'm heading out to buy a new network card. FFs.

Why new network adapter ? If its a driver issue then better solution to download the manufacturer driver...

Easy fix will be to buy a USB network adapter ...plug n play :D
