Windows 7/Xp mix up!!help

Hi all

i have windows 7 installed on my system,i re did my friends HDD and he wanted XP

the hard drive had bad sectors,so fixed them(his drive being slave) and inserted XP cd and chose his drive and installed XP

took it out and back in his system and working 100%

BUT!!!! turned my system on tedaaa...i get this message "windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware config problem"

So i press f8 and tried to choose my windows 7 OS...but it doesn't show anymore but only XP OS :/

what can i do to roll back the OS or get my windows 7 back again??

You left your main drive in and still master while installing another OS to slave?

sadly so :/ ..installing it on to the slave like i wanted to..

I think XP messed with the Master Boot Records of 7.

Site did help! luckily with CMD and then bootrec.exe /FixBoot

dodged a bullet! it rebuilt my OS list ,instead of seeing windows XP as my only OS, that command redid my list of OS and found the original Windows 7 list again..
