Windows 8 Skype app

Is it just me or does this app suck. MS killed MS messenger so I though they would have designed something more UI friendly.

For example if you want to add a new contact it jumps from docked to fullscreen mode and you then have to do a search in the charms bar. It just gives me the feeling of being bloated especially comparing it to something like Google Talk.

I ended downloading the desktop version from a non MS site as MS site doesn't even give you a download choice between the two.

Yeah it blows. Download the desktop app rather. I WAS hoping the fact that you can snap it to the sidebar meant it would override any fullscreen apps but it doesn't so it's just a terrible re-design of the normal app.

I can imagine a lot of those old MS Messenger desktop users will move to Google Talk.

Microsoft can't even give an excuse that it is designed for phones as windows phone has a separate app in a separate Windows phone store.
IMO the Skype app is a prime example of what is wrong with Windows 8.
