Ever since I've installed iBurst every few hours it disconnects and I get the following error :

"Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" (for those of you who dont want to click there)

This kills my network activity even if i reconnect so I need to reboot.

Anyone get this error or know whats up?

Windows XP - Service Pack 2, PCMCIA iBurst modem (new one)

Could be many things

This process is used for spawning many events, so it could be one of many things causing it. I would update Windows, Iburst drivers and software, etc. etc.

You may want to make not of the exact time it happens and check your system log (control panel, administrative tools, event viewer). See if there are any events around this time that may have caused this error. Do a search on the web for "event id " + the event id no.

That error you'll normally get when there's a hardware driver conflict on your pc.

Can be a printer driver causing the problem, scanner, display card, etc.

*I had it when my RAM was faulty and everything would crash, IE, Windows Explorer - very frustrating...

ah - I am getting an exclamation mark over the default LAN connection icon that windows has for the iBurst network card - (saying it cant fetch the DHCP ip address or something about an IP conflict) but it still works.. could this be causing the error?

Not sure - DHCP shouldn't cause that problem, but who knows... with the wrong combination of driver / software, anything is possible on Windows.
