Network error when trying to access my NAS

Yes, there is an Open option. It does open my Windows browser but still only the "media" (photos and sound) is accessible. My backups don't display. Thanks for your help and time.
I don't really know this device. From what I see it is a Cloud Backup device as well?
If you have a WD Cloud account, check if the backups aren't there.

I think nas gets a authentication error due to username/password not same on nas for logged in user.

I have done two things in the mean time ...
1. I did a full replace recovery with my recovery USB disk during the night. I have just logged on. After the windows installation, I got a message that there is something wrong with my account. Screenshot didn't want to work and as I went to get my phone for a photo the screen disappeared. Do you think it has something to do with that?
2. I removed all password protection from the NAS.

After the new installation, the NAS UI opens up in my browser when I put in the NAS IP in Networks.
This is all I have done so far. I have not done any of the changes I made prior to recovery.

Any other things I can do?

try to \\NASIP in explorer, it should pop up with authentication.

when asking for authentication it is key to use NASIP\username and password

Also, have you configured you shared folders yet on the NAS?

Control panel > programs and features > turn windows features on of off > Enable SMB 1.0 client.
Without that, you won't be able to connect to legacy NAS devices

Thank you so much!
And I did this yesterday as well, but it did not work. After my recovery from USB drive this morning, I again did as per your suggestion, and I'm in! So glad I tried it again.

Thanks again for everybody's help & time. I really appreciate it.

Have a lekker weekend.

Well done in finally sorting out!

... and just after I have "listened" to MS nagging me to login with a pin, I'm back with the network error.
Will now search on how to disable login in with pin and change back to login with password. See if it helps. Otherwise I need to rescue ... again.

I'm back in. Fortunately I just had to remove the PIN and signed in with my local account. I also signed out completely from my MS account.
