But I don't think it's a shut down (at least not my one that is still running RC). It logs out - which is frustrating, because I hadn't backed up al lthe data - so I'd copy 500GB and come back to find it logged out. Took me 3 sessions :P

This is a ridiculous article(I have not read it since the title says enough), Apple have not issued any major upgrades for a few months now so sales are of course slow.

Remember kiddies, Apple sells hardware not software only.

They resell rebadged intels in fancy cases. Its called being arty-farty and it has great appeal to those who are la-die-da-die and arty-farty with their snooty-snotty-hoity-toity macs that are just used to fanny about all the time. There is a thin (blue) line between a computer and a fashion statement.

We have a problem with ignorance. How many winblow fanboy users here know how to format and install OSX or winblowme on a mac? my guess is none.
 
Try personal preference....
Windows 7 is awesome, prob the best windows ever, but for what I do, useless...
So instead i work on a Mac, running Snow Leopard...

flame wars are dumb, if you like a mac, sweet, buy one...
If windows is your thing, awesome,
I don't see the point of my c**k is bigger than yours argument everytime a new OS comes out..
 
LOL I was just playing around as usual with these threads, It's not personal, Killa knows I play for hours on my winblows PC and will join him on bfbc2, I don't really hate windows.

I think that problem may stem from not owning a mac nor needing one :D. If you need a mac then awesome enjoy. Not our fault windows works well and we like it. I know it kills you when you see 5% market share but move on with life. If i had a mac the first thing i would do is load windows, how else would i game or run my corel draw :D.

So sadly mac is not useful to me but if you enjoy then good and i hope you feel the same about windows :D.\

Let's not foget those high end macs with gt220 vga card for some awesome power. How much again 25k? We all that gt220 kicks a 5870's ass

When something comes a long that runs our apps better and performs better we'll give it a fair chance.

Apple just ain't that - its an elitist hobbyist toy and we get annoyed when people want to compare it to our computers that does more for much less. And looks less gay.
 
For some reason most windows users have no issues with mac okes but the mac okes seem to want to justify their purchase over and over and those same okes mostly run windows for something, be it games or an app that does not run on mac which boggles my mind :D.

Putting down an OS you need is just plain silly and trying to justify why mac is better is another thing i don't get. for many people apple just does not offer the options windows does, so naturally mac won't have a high user base, so enjoy your mac and we will enjoy windows, not sure why windows always needs to take so much kuk from people who seem hell bent on putting it down while having it loaded on either their mac or a windows pc :D.

There is a reason mac offers a windows install :D. You don't see ferrari offering to put a tata's engine in the chassis do you?
 
The car analogy is a bit different actually. Apples market share is pretty much an indication of how much software out there it can actually run (natively). So in terms of cars you could call it a Corolla/Polo (it has the same intel engine) with some fancy bodywork, high quality parts (allegedly) that sells for the price of a Ferrari. It also only drives on very select roads (about 5% of the roads in the world) and the tax to drive on those roads are insane.

And you base this on experience or what? As a designer I can say Macs are excellent, not sure what you are on about.

No driver update worries, I mean FFS, that is the best part after upgrading each time, It is why linux is my second choice as an OS.
 
Well like i said you like linux and mac, awesome, we like windows just as awesome :D.

Pro's and con's on both platforms but use whatever you like :D.
