Okay, I googled and came up with a blank (sort of):

My mom has a pc with Outlook 2007. Now, she has a new machine so I copied all her stuff across etc but the one thing Outlook will not do is the same list of auto-complete contacts. It has copied her SAVED contacts but she tells me that she does not save every single contact of a message received (why should she) because these auto-complete when she starts typing a new message anyways. How do I copy these across?

Google only gave me countless pages to copy the SAVED contacts, which is not what I want.

Yip, those previously used e-mail addresses are stored in:

c:\Documents and Settings\xxxRelevantUser\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.NK2 file (Nickname)

Make sure Outlook is closed & copy this file from the previous location to the new location & your problem will be solved.

Great tip. Which application should one use to edit this nk2 file? I tried notepad but it doesn't display all the addresses well.

If you want to have a look-see in the Outlook.NK2 file, use this brilliant freeware & notepad replacer program - NoteTab (http://www.notetab.com/).

You have to enable Binary Code Filtering -> Menu -> [View] -> [Options] -> [Filter Binary Codes]

Not sure what you want to do with the file, but you can save the content as a TXT file & use Excel to import the file into columns for a better view.

NK2edit is the boss,export,import,edit NK2's
