I have recently installed Windows Vista Ultimate Edition 64-bit, and I have also installed the NVIDIA Forceware 97.46 WHQL drivers.
I've gone from 140FPS in my games with Windows XP Professional to no more than 30FPS with Windows Vista. I know that Windows Vista will use a bit more resources and I might lose around 10FPS, but 110FPS?!
I have heard that this is a common problem since NVIDIA's drivers aren't completely performance-based for Windows Vista yet, as their opting for stability instead of performance (a good idea in theory).
There is a new NVIDIA driver out, the Forceware 100.65 WHQL driver, but I can only download it at the end of the month when we get our next block of cap
My question is this: Can anyone confirm that it is indeed the new NVIDIA drivers that is causing the performance deficit? I have gone on many forums and everyone is complaining about it (the drivers' performance) so I would just like to know if anyone else is experiencing the same problems as I am?
