Windows won't install

Ok cool. Media creation is almost done. I'm going to fire that up and head off to bed in a bit. I figure if I leave it overnight that should give it plenty time to sort out any gremlins.
Please don’t keep us in suspense!

yes, this. Try different media or recreate the boot image.

The fact that its showing the spash screen says that its booting ok. Just might be the image that is borked.
This

I only recently upgraded to Windows 11 on my old Amd FX system, was forced to with W10 getting cancer.

It took me a whole day of trying several bootable usb configs all with varying results but none successfully booting to the setup.

Turns out the normal rufus config is correct, it just hangs for several minutes before posting for some reason, most likely old hardware stuffs.

ALSO, creating virtual machine copy of my previous os has been so fsckn handy in restoring things on the new instalation.

I had this same issue with my PC after installing Fedora. In the end I had to create a new installation USB from my MacBook. Rufus was the problem.

Although, I can’t install Windows 7 from my dad’s dvd now and I don’t know what that’s about… Bios settings are all correct…

Google gives a page full of hits with varying usefulness. The combined wisdom of an IT forum (the one area we actually have experts on) gives me a far more useful result.
Hmmm. That link requires a working OS. I'll update once I've sorted the windows issues.

After leaving the install overnight it was stuck on Copying Windows Files (0%). I booted back to Parted Magic, deleted all the old partitions on the HDD (one I harvested from another machine when upgrading that to a SSD) and saw there was another 32GB drive. After reading about the cache issues (posted a link earlier) I deleted the partition on that drive too. Install seems to be working now.

Did you delete all the partitions inside the windows installation window and then click it and select next the first time round.

I can't quite remember. It was late, and I was tired. All working sweetly now though.
