Im just looking for some comments on this from other forumites. I did some investigations on this, this version (4.1GB) is available on the IS News Servers so I wanted to see what the fuss was about.

I did a virus scan on this version and got 2 trojan horse viruses detected, it was from a keygen.exe file which I guess you can just stay away from.
Generally speaking what is your general opinion of security/stability of something like this?

Usually, warez is filled with viruses and malware. It was not the case in the 90's when warez was more reliable and safe.

I like the PowerDVD 8 to play HD-DVDs and BD's but the rest of the stuff is pretty much junk. The casual user doesn't
need PS CS2 - and professionals buy legit versions, Office 2007 sucks because of a new interface, ZA doesn't do anything
that the Kerio Personal Firewall doesn't do better (Kerio is free),
Fraunhofer IIs MP3 Codec is worse than the FREE LAME, etc. Still a BD-Drive will cost about $600 or so and you can't pirate that.

Reading the discussion I quote one:

"John said,

I Own This XP Black Edition And I Really Like It.Some Of My Friends Also Own It And They Can’t Find Anything Worng With It Virus Or Malware Wise. "

The guy says that he "owns" this edition. Does he own the copyright for it? Does he own the actual software (did he buy it already)?
Total bollocks. This is not a piracy vs legit argument but people who use such language have to be in junior high school or mentally retarded :).

I just need to find a test rig somewhere to load it onto :) My Windows setup is running more stable than ever lol, dont wanna mess with it again.

I can't believe you're dumb enough to ask for opinions about warez here. n00bs like you put everyone, and the system, in jeopardy

Kind of a whole new topic, but after using Office 2007 for a few weeks I actually like the new interface. I can get to many features a lot quicker than using the old menus. Especially changing text wrapping on images, and even inserting images is easier.

Have you given it a try or did it just frighten you off when you installed it at first, cause I was also skeptical when i first looked at it.

Oh right, Windows Black Edition.

This is just someone putting together a nice (if its virus free) package for Windows with all your warez install together with the OS, which is nice. But this will be useless in a month from now when you want to install XP and then you are just installing slightly outdated versions of everything. Stick to a XP SP2 disk and then download all your new apps separately, you are wasting a lot of bandwidth with all these apps you don't need.

Why is everyone so up tight? He is only asking for help.

Because what he's talking about is illegal, and results in jail time? It's always "Oh, nothings going to happen" until it does, and then it's tears and ass rape. That some of you kids are too stupid to realize how serious this is puts everyone in danger of a warez bust that will f*** up the local scene

How long have you been on the "local scene"?

I would keep away from it. Any software which comes pre-loading with a bunch of software tends to be quite questionable.

I will agree with you on that. I would not trust this software bundle at all.

why not its a pirate's greatest file

free windows and thousands of rands worth of free software all in one bundle

And all the free vaginal diseases that come with it? What about program conflict and such. No thanks. I like to do mine from the start so I know what is being installed.

I must agree. Warez is not the way to go. If you can afford to buy a PC why can't you buy your software too??

At the end of the day you have all the benefits of software upgrades software support that you might need in the future.

Strangely enough not everyone in a 3rd world country can afford to to purchase software. Its kinda kept for the middle to upper income levels.

Those who cant afford, my first suggestion would be open source, my second suggestion would be the pirate bay.

Office 2007 by itself costs as much as a new PC.

Anyway I say just install normal XP, get a black theme, and get whatever software you need after that. There's a whole lot of crap on that list that nobody would ever use.

And the worst part is that there's a Norton app included as well, anything Norton is even worse than a virus.
