Windows XP Black Edition

I would rather get an XP version and then add the stuff I want.

I would buy everything off the selves but it is to expensive!

You could also use Nlite to make your Windows XP edition, combine that with the RyanVM Update Pack and you have a Windows XP with only the components you want and completely up to date.

The MSFN Nlite Software Addon forum also has a guide on how to make your own software addon that can be integrated into Windows VIA nLite and there are already a whole bunch of addons available (such as WMP11 & IE7, Deamon Tools, etc)

Once you've made your own successful nLited Windows XP you'll never go back to using other people Windows XP's. It just doesn't have the flexibility ;)

That black edition is either made with nLite anyway or it doesn't directly integrate the files into Windows meaning slow installation thats probably buggy.

Because what he's talking about is illegal, and results in jail time? It's always "Oh, nothings going to happen" until it does, and then it's tears and ass rape. That some of you kids are too stupid to realize how serious this is puts everyone in danger of a warez bust that will f*** up the local scene

*Sigh* Its all so clear! - your nickname says it all!

"aY aY to the Pirates of the world!"

why not its a pirate's greatest file

free windows and thousands of rands worth of free software all in one bundle

Its too risky!. IF you're going to pirate, rather install the software you know and trust than use this shortcut!

How about staying away from pirated software because its just not right.
I guess no amount of education can curb greed

Riiiiight. Don't know what the fuss is about. I have it installed on my brother's PC. He uses it mainly for gaming and listening to music so all the extra stuff aren't really needed. Have a good anti virus installed and had no problems yet.

What I liked about it is that it installed most of the drivers from the start and codecs are up to date. Most Windows updates are also included.

Works great as a all-rounder.

Office 2007 by itself costs as much as a new PC.
And where does it say that someone has to use Office 2007? I can even understand the odd person pirating XP (although Linux does provide a free alternative) but the rest of the non-free apps in the list are not something that anyone has to pirate. There is absolutely nothing wrong is OpenOffice if someone can't afford MS Office. In fact, anyone switching to OO helps to break the shackles MS has on the industry.

You are not entitled to any of the software on the list unless you have paid for it. Hell, some of the products on the list are from companies that are not making billions. Don't you see anything wrong with that?

Then tomorrow there is a new version of Opera or Open Office and the "installation" is old. Doesn't seem like an optimal way of working to me.

I'm not advocating it, badmouthing it or trying to promote piracy - simply making a point that while it's the office product of choice for most Windows users, it's reached a point where it's now way too expensive. If anything, this will promote OO because pirates are in the minority, the majority wouldn't be able to afford purchasing the full suite and therefore will be on the lookout for alternatives.

I use my PC to buy stuff online. Despite updated virus definitions and firewall I would not want to run WAREZ like that. If any WAREZ at all, find a serial number and register a shareware app with that instead. Downloading gigs of
softs for installation on an internet connected PC is dangerous, after all, there
could be a hidden password keylogger in there or something. Why not?

Kind of a whole new topic, but after using Office 2007 for a few weeks I actually like the new interface. I can get to many features a lot quicker than using the old menus. Especially changing text wrapping on images, and even inserting images is easier.

Have you given it a try or did it just frighten you off when you installed it at first, cause I was also skeptical when i first looked at it.

I have an OEM purchased Office XP Standard and it's good enough for me. I also have OpenOffice which I don't really use. I don't see a reason to buy new stuff or use warez Office :).

This is also true :D

Serialz are always malware and virus-free but not keygens. ;)
Then again I don't use any warez :).

1. OO and Ms Office Std XP for Word Processing.
2. WinAMP for music.
3. VLC and Windows Media Player.
4. Old Ver of Photoshop and PSP for picture editing (don't really do this tho)
5. AV is registered.
6. Free Firewall - legit.
7. Legit PowerDVD (OEM) for Anime.
8. OEM DVD burning software.
9. Free Windows sitters ;)
10. Remote Selector for Region Free PowerDVD (freeware).
11. Stuff like Super or AutoGK with DivX free or xVid to encode vid files for portable video player.
12. WinLAME and LAME for Mp3 creation.

On Mac, use

1. OO.
2. VLC (region free) with flashed drive for DVD and AVI Playback so I can watch Anime Vids.
3. Purchased FCP - ok this was expensive.
4. Burn (freeware burner for DVDs)
5. QT Pro comes with FCP so use that to watch MOVs.
6. No AV soft but ClamAV for Mac is free.
7. Lots of freeware plugins for FCP and a couple I bought.
8. iTunes for music (free).

SO yeah, some stuff is purchased (but long ago) and the rest if freeware/shareware. :) Don't plan on buying Vista.

Apologies, missunderstood your post. I agree 100% Office pricing is absolutely ridiculous. For that matter, has anyone seen what MS is charging for Vista Ultimate in places like Incredible Rip-Off. Over R5K. If that is not an invitation to pirate the software, I don't know what is. Everyone who actually thought that IE, MS Defender and all of that stuff is free must have a look at the increase in prices between XP and Vista to see what is funding the development.

11a. DVD Decrypter is a must have for me
11b. DVD Shrink works a charm
11c. DVD Remake Pro for reauthoring DVDs. Gets rid of those nasty ads.
12. WinLAME and LAME for Mp3 creation.

....

Don't plan on buying Vista.
I need a cross, I am staying away from it like the plague.
