Windows XP for cheap laptops

it's not economical viable for them to make games that will run on linux. Have tried wine in vain ,just didn't want to work mandrake.

No major game maker has even tried releasing a test game on Linux, so there's no way they can say it is not commercially viable beyond reasonable doubt. With Linux able to use hardware in a more efficient manner games would perform better on Linux.

+1
Also, WINE should work fine on some, if not all, distributions of Linux.

pity it would be interesting to see performance comparison

No one has released a major game for Linux because M$ has them in their pockets. We all know how it goes. I know the results of a comparison long before it has even been done. Linux will beat the **** out of Windows performance-wise. We all know that :D

I thought MS where going to discontinue XP... guess Vista is such a flop... they can not afford to.

Businessmen in general have refused to use Vista because of compatibility (getting better) and stability issues. Getting sorted, but they still don't trust it. I don't blame them.

When we ask for quotes for new machines at work none of our suppliers even mentions Vista :D.

I am well aware of that. A place I know of only moved to XP 3 years after it was launched.
Some businessmen buy from places like Incredible Corruption. Now how many of their business machines (about 6 months back) even came with XP, not to mention an XP fallback? About 5-10%. The rest were infected with Vista.

Microsoft is charging the non-profit group just $3 per installation. But hardware changes including increased memory will add an extra $20 to the price of each machine ordered with Windows.so Windows XP for cheap laptops .
