i remember smartpad doing induction charge pads about 6 years ago.
the advantage is that you can use one pad for multiple devices and charge them simultaneously.
unless things have changed drastically, the main disadvantage is that induction charging takes forever.
if you have an electric toothbrush, you'll know how long it takes.
afaik this has nothing to do with charging via rf, it's using induced current.
charging via rf is still a long way off. but still a nice idea.
