Hi,

Recently I've heard of some residents in our region have been given wireless options by Telkom instead of the normal wired options. This is apparently due to continuous cable theft. Anyone know of this? Give a link to where I can read about this? Can ADSL work via this wireless option (if its available)?

Thanks.

what you are talking about is called WIMAX, but i am under the impression it was discontinued some time ago

I am also interested in knowing more.

I live in Sunninghill & we have cable theft at least once every 3 months. A few months ago it it happened 3 times in 3 months.

This has once again happened & now telkom are telling me they are going to perhaps go the Wireless ADSL route. I asked him if he meant WiMax but he said no, its wireless adsl. Its adsl technology at the same price as normal adsl.

Is anyone on this product?
