Hi all,

I really need some help

I have a genius 2.4ghz wireless mouse and keyboard combo.

When I connect my cell c 3G modem (it's the white 7.2mbps one) to my pc running Win 7, then my mouse and keyboard stop responding.

Any idea what I can do to fix this ?

Move the receiver closer to the mouse and keyboard? Get a usb extension cable and move the 3g dongle further away?

I've tried connecting the 3G modem in the different USB ports away from the receiver but the problem is as soon as 3G connects the mouse goes haywire.

how much do extension cables go for?

Was wondering if anybody had a similar problem before ?

Might also be power related - try plugging some of it into a powered hub,or if your using a tower try using the rear USB ports.

When you say haywire the mouse isn't bouncing all over the screen is it?

+1 to Tun@. Avoid USB extension cables for modem, it would affect stability of the connection.

any other things plugged in via usb?

sounds like a power issue but not sure(It's probably not power if the mouse is bouncing around)

edt: I use a extension for my 3G modem sometimes, to get better signal and usually don't have any problems.

Hi guys,

The mouse doesn't bounce around it is static...

There are a lot of other stuff connected via USB as well including an ir reciever for a remote. I'm using it as an htpc .

I tried shifting the modem to other USB ports for eg in the back but it wasn't picking up signal.

I also need to have the mouse receiver in the front as I'm using it from a fair distance.

Does anyone think if i plugged in the USB modem into a 3G router it would sort it out? (I don't have one but have been thinking of getting one to share wifi since I don't have adsl)

Hi ponder,

Where do they sell them at this price?
I was in makro and saw one for about R100 I think

Have a look online (syabritic, prophecy etc) or your local pc shop. For a R100 you can get a powered hub as sajunky mentioned.
