I want to setup a wireless network over 120 meters between my dad's house and my mother's spot. So at both places I can use the internet and share files between locations for work etc.

Does anybody know the cost involved in setting up something like this?

Thanks

Your mother and your dad lives 120 meters appart?

It's possible depending on what exactly you require. (Wrong section to ask this btw)

Eish, You'll really really struggle with wifi... maybe try a WUG set up if the housed have a line of sight... this may set you back though :(

Yip pure coincidence that they almost neighbours. :D It's line of site. Even more bonus is the one property is double story and the properties in between are all single story. I was thinking WUG. Would it work for this type of thing. Internet access from one router would be important.

Eish about wrong section. :)

Ask a mod to move it, you will get better feedback in the Networking section ;)

I had the same challenge with a client recently.

I simply put up 2 of these facing each other. With AirMAX enabled it get about 120 Mbps throughput. More than enough as the clients are both 100Mbps.

That's a pretty good price for that solution!

I see the antennas are integrated, does this mean you can install these units outside in the elements?

When I was bouncing just 60m I used two linksys wrt54gl's with their normal antennae, now that I'm bouncing 1km I use the same linksys devices, but with 14db panels as antennae on each side...

I installed both outside on L-Brackets. I was there today again and did another test, 112Mbps, They operate at 98% signal quality, drop maybe to 96%. Its just flawless and impressive.

The Nanostations Rock!! They are truly great for a job like this. And its really easy to install. And also easy to intergrade with other vendors WiFi AP's

For the price, integrated PoE (so no long power cords required), simplicity it looks like a very good solution without even having seen one.
