im having a problem setting up a password for my wirless network at home.i am c

sorry.didnt realise i posted that.im currently using a netgear super g wireless modem router along with a netgear usb dongle on my pc.everytime i try setup a wep pasword it disconnects the router and then i have to reset the router and input all the information again on the router control panel.

Best to connect to the router via ethernet cable when doing these modifications. Also I would suggest going for WPA or WPA2 for better security.

After you have set the password, you'll need to delete the network wireless profile, and search for wireless networks again. When you try to connect to your network the block for the password will come up, which you can then enter.

I'm assuming you are on XP and are broadcasting the network SSID?

i am using xp and broadcasting the ssid network.
will try using the ehernet cable tonight.let u know if it works out.

thanks for the response.
