Wireless providers set for ICASA showdown

Watch out for Telscum lawyers backing Icasa in the background on this one!

ICASA was asked to clarify their position on the self provisioning of VANS, but to date the regulator did not provide any feedback

 What else is new?

like i said before icasa is a toothless dog.they not doing anything worthwhile that i can see

I only skim read this one, but why only now, 3 years later (after feb 2005) r they making a fuss? Ignore me if this was mentioned in the article :p

Unbelievable that WAPA have to take ICASA to court to get clarity on this issue, it seems like a fairly simple yes or no answer except in 2005 it was yes and now suddenly its no. Pathetic work Ivy and ICASA. Grrrr

because now ICASA are converting licences into ones under the new Act - they have to do this on "no less favourable terms". so it becomes crucial to know exactly what are your rights as a VANS licensee

ICASA made a public statement to the effect that VANS cannot self-provide for the first time on 17 March 2008...the fuss started shortly afterwards
