Wireless security an issue

For most people that's the best they can do. Even better, use a hidden SSID. Works well for me.

Hidden ssid isn't going to stop someone from getting in. The ID can still be detected and decrypted.

Its amazing at how many insecure ap's are out there!

Hidden SSID makes it difficult for people without scanners, although it does not stop anyone if they want to. I would be willing to pay anyone would could get into my network. Because it won't happen :)

well having in encrypted step and having network after that encrypted should be ok....

blah blah what??? English is preferable. The best way for a regular wireless network to go around safely is to have a regularly changed pass key and MAC filtering as well as a restricted DHCP server- ie if only 5 people will be using it, only create five addresses.

implement that and encryption and you will still have some idiot plugging in his 3g card for internet which makes all this pointless.

Yeah but the idea is to keep the buggers out of our wireless network. We don't mind them having their own 3g...

true true but some of these "people" on the inside of the fence use 3g, which makes all the security useless.
