Tried to replace plugs on a few cables.
Now they don't work.
Have not done this in 20 years or so ......
Is this the correct wiring for a normal cat 5 cable?
Not sure why it isn't working Screenshot_20190624-211926_Chrome.jpeg

Yes, that's correct. You can also swop the green and orange pairs, which will give you the B standard.

Also, make sure the crimper pressed the pins on the rj45 connector down properly.
Also make sure you don't press too far. I had a crimper that went too far if you went all the way - the pins won't make contact.

I got some bum connectors, the cartridge would not seat no matter what you did, battled to crimp and just gave endless problems.
Tossed the lot and got some from Scoop and they just work, you fit, test and move on.
Try a different make perhaps.

unfortunately not all RJ's are made equal and besides solid and stranded cable you get solid and stranded RJ's

Then the crimper, then the cable... Buy right crimp once
