Can anyone recommend a good value for money Wisp in the Durbanville area (Goedemoed).
I've had it with my over-subscribed Telkom exchange.

Usage wise, I mostly stream and play games online.
Currently I have a 50GB capped account with Afrihost.

thanks

We're building three new towers in that area.

It seems you are not in our current coverage area / a connection to us could be borderline.

We have technicians doing an installation in Langeberg Village today. Give us a call. Maybe a site visit will reveal something that the coverage map doesn't know about.

I use Sprintnet in Durbanville - haven't had many issues.

Used Kawaleza before - they were ****. I think they were bought by Sprintnet, but speak under correction.

Before that I used Wireless Online - great service, but very expensive. Might have changed since then.

I've been ADSL free for two years, heehaa! :D

Sprintnet bought Kawuleza, I used to be with Kawuleza, and am now on Sprintnet.

Yes, I can also attest to Sprintnet being much better than Kawuleza was. I had an issue yesterday, but was resolved in a friendly manner.

This is me right now at 7.2km away from the high tower.

Price? Contract terms? Hardware costs? I suppose you gonna tell me to google it?

Are you on the R1999 package? 4mbps, 5:1 contention? Plus there's a R1950 setup fee. Whats that setup fee for?

Man, thats a serious amount of monthly cash to fork out on an internet connection. What do they consider to be FUP? How much bandwidth do you consume, month to month. What's you max usage? What would they do if you exceed FUP?

I joined them when they were still Kawuleza, and thus my monthly cost is much less than that. I'm on 20:1 ratio too.

The installation fee is the hardware equipment that gets installed at you premises. I.e. the Dish, receiver, CAT5 to one point. Don't quote me on this, but when I initially joined, paying that makes you OWN the equipment, not just rent it like others do.

I'm not a heavy user, so can't quote on shaping policies. I use at most 120gb a month on heavy updates etc. I've never been throttled or shaped in any way whatsoever. My average usage is about 80gb a month.

Note That their speeds are real time so if you want to compare it to adsl you would have 40mb up and down(even thou the speed results shows 4mb up and down it is still technically 40mb up and down but they supply their speeds as real time.) connection which is crazy fast. Their 4mbs package mean you will literally download 4mbs per second. And of course you get 99% uptime and much better local and international pings than ADSL.

Agreed, he's talking BS

Its what 4 different people explained to me they are going to install on Monday and i am going to use the 5 day free trial and will confirm if i am correct or not if not i will obviously not take their service. The experience i have had with them to come to my house and do line of site were very professional and quick so far so lets hope that 4 different people didn't lie to me. But i will confirm all of this on Monday.

Okay guys, so how can we get the highest speeds in Durbanville/ Eversdal area or must I stay on ADSL?

Currently Cancelling installation now freaking liars.

I would just like to find out why you cancelled the Site Survey & Trial Install? I understand that people take allot of options and opinions into consideration when it comes to things like this, but until you try it for yourself then you won't know for sure how the service is.
